Frank Field Education Trust are committed to providing excellence in education for all children, and particularly the most disadvantaged and those with Special Educational Needs, and or Disabilities (SEND), in Cheshire East from birth until they finish school at the age of 19.
From birth to the age of 2, this is provided through the ground-breaking Early Life Programme. Early Life Programme is a true collaboration between an alliance of partners including FFET, the NHS and others and is managed by the Research and Support organisation SJEC. Growing Skills aims to support a small pilot cohort of children and families from September 2021, to help them develop enhanced school readiness through access to the comprehensive programme of support offered by Midwives, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Family Nurses and through enhanced school links.
From the age of 2-11, children and families receive an outstanding education at Handforth Grange Primary School. Handforth Grange was judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in April 2017 and has continued to improve. The Leadership Team, teaching staff and extensive support staff are fully committed to delivering equity in educational provision for all children, including disadvantaged families and those with SEND. The school was commended by the Rt. Hon. Nick Gibb MP in 2019 for being in the top-100 schools nationally; has award winning music, sports and arts education and a ground-breaking Experiences programme of voluntary, residential and outdoor education which, amongst other awards, has gained two 'Silver Gilt' and two 'Gold medals' at the last four RHS Tatton Flower Shows. The school has an Outstanding Resource Provision and supports 21 children with Autistic Spectrum Condition through mainstream education.
FFET are committed to building partnerships with local secondary school to continue the education of these children from the age of 11-19 either through Associate status, or through an ongoing application to establish The Handforth College as an 11-19 Free School.
