The creative minds behind the Friends of Handforth Grange Primary School (FoHG) devised an inventive approach to generate funds for a new trim trail installation at the school. Inspired by the release of the latest Wonka film, they introduced a thrilling challenge—selling chocolate bars with hidden ‘golden tickets.’
Already making waves, FoHG have raised an astonishing £11,000, steering them closer to their £13,000 target for acquiring new equipment for the school field. Anwyl Homes has generously contributed £500 towards prizes for the giveaway.
Jessica Hall, a member of Friends of Handforth Grange said: “Over the past two years, we’ve raised over £11,000 through various events. Our aim is to reach our goal by the end of the year! We envisioned this as a fun way for students to engage, drawing from the beloved Roald Dahl story.”
Tickets were on sale from Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th December with the chocolate bars, priced at £2.50 each, offering a chance to discover a golden ticket leading to exciting rewards such as a 40″ Amazon Fire TV, Nintendo Switch Lite, and a £200 Smyths Toys gift card. These top-tier prizes (1x top prize per day) were acquired using Anwyl Homes’ generous £500 donation specifically for this event.
Graeme Gibb, sales director at Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales said: “Supporting local communities around our developments is a priority. We’re delighted to assist the Friends of Handforth Grange in their fantastic fundraising endeavours. We believe the trim trail will be a fantastic addition to the school. We extend our best wishes to them in selling the ‘golden ticket’ bars.”
Andrea Booth, Head Teacher of Handforth Grange Primary School, praised the remarkable efforts of the Friends of Handforth Grange Team and the support received from parents and carers. Our children actively participated in selecting the trim trail design and eagerly anticipate its installation upon reaching our goal.”
