Pupils from Ellesmere Port C of E College, Birches Head Academy and Handforth Grange Primary School are preparing for an unforgettable educational and cultural journey to Chengdu in China. Departing on 22nd March 2025, this immersive trip promises to broaden their horizons through a series of enriching cultural experiences.
The week-long itinerary is packed with opportunities for pupils to engage with Chinese culture, history, and education. Upon arrival in Chengdu, the group will visit the renowned Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Centre, offering a first-hand look at China’s iconic giant pandas and conservation efforts.
Pupils will also participate in multiple school visits, where they will interact with Chinese peers, gaining valuable insight into the country’s education system and fostering cross-cultural connections. Beyond the classroom, they will explore historic sites such as the Wide and Narrow Alley and Wenshu Monastery, as well as enjoy a boat tour of Huang Long Xi Ancient Town, immersing themselves in the region’s rich history and traditions.
This trip represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our pupils to learn beyond the confines of their classrooms. By experiencing China’s culture, history, and education system first-hand, pupils will gain a deeper global perspective that will benefit them for years to come.
This once in a lifetime opportunity will conclude with a visit to the Sichuan Provincial Museum before pupils return home on 29th March, carrying with them unforgettable memories.
